ShiftLog Privacy Policy

ShiftLog helps you keep attendance, shift, and note records on your Android device. Optional sign-in enables Firebase Authentication and Firestore cloud synchronization.

Guest mode works without an account. Creating an account is optional.

On the device, ShiftLog uses a local Room database for attendance, notes, custom shift types, and sync metadata.

Guest-scoped records are stored separately from signed-in account-scoped records.

If you create an account, the app uses email and password through Firebase Authentication.

A Firebase user ID (UID) is associated with signed-in account data. Google Sign-In is not used.

Signed-in features use Firebase Authentication with email and password.

The Firebase UID links Authentication to account-scoped app data. Sign-out ends the signed-in session; it does not delete the account.

Firestore is used for optional cloud synchronization of signed-in account data, such as profile, shift types, attendance, and notes.

Firebase Storage is not used by the app.

Guest mode works without an account. Guest data stays in a guest scope on the device.

Deleting a signed-in account does not delete guest data. Other users' data is not deleted.

Notes are user-authored text, up to 2000 characters.

Notes are stored locally in Room. If you are signed in and use cloud sync, notes may also be stored in Firestore.

Attendance and shift records that you enter are stored locally in Room.

If you are signed in and use cloud sync, those records may also be stored in Firestore.

Custom shift types that you create are stored locally in Room.

If you are signed in and use cloud sync, they may also be stored in Firestore.

CSV export and import are user-initiated.

Files you export are stored wherever you save them. In-app account deletion and this website do not delete CSV files you already exported.

Depending on your device and Google account settings, Android or Google backups created outside the app may include app data.

This website cannot delete backups already created outside the app. In-app account deletion also does not remove those external backups.

When you use signed-in or cloud-sync features, Authentication and Firestore are provided by Firebase (Google) as the cloud service provider.

The Android app declares the INTERNET permission only. We do not describe other unpublished sharing arrangements.

The current Android app does not include ads, an analytics SDK, or Crashlytics.

The app does not use location, contacts, camera, microphone, or SMS permissions.

No fixed numeric retention period is published. Account-scoped Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Room, and sync-operation data are removed when you complete in-app account deletion. Guest data remains on the device until you clear app data or uninstall, subject to Android or Google backups created outside the app.

Account-scoped cloud data in Firebase Authentication and Firestore is removed when you complete in-app account deletion.

Account-scoped Room data and account-scoped cloud sync operation records are removed by that same in-app deletion flow.

Guest-scoped data remains on the device until you clear app data or uninstall, subject to Android backup behavior described above.

Signed-in users can delete their account inside the Android app. Instructions are on the Delete Account page at /shiftlog/delete-account.

This website does not perform automated account deletion. It provides information and an email request path for users who cannot use the app.

Sign-out is not account deletion.

Signing out ends the signed-in session. It does not delete the Firebase Authentication account, Firestore data, or Room data.

The app uses the INTERNET permission to reach Firebase when you use signed-in or cloud-sync features.

This policy does not claim unpublished encryption details, security certifications, or compliance badges.

ShiftLog is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect account information from children through the Android app.
